Normal Tension Glaucoma
- The pressure within the eye is within normal range but still causes damage to the eye with this type of glaucoma.
- Reasons for this type of glaucoma are not entirely known, it is assumed the optic nerve is weak and unable to withstand the pressure within the normal range of pressure for that person.
- Treatment of normal tension glaucoma is the same as Open Angle Glaucoma, by lowering the pressure to a level which is ideal for the optic nerve. Click the link for more information on treatment options.
